Scholarships For Developing Countries In germany by DAAD. Helmut Schmidt Program

Scholarships  for master's students from the developing countries in the field ) in the fields 0f political and social studies, economics and business administration, legal and administrative sciences. The scholarships  are for the qualified students with a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent) who wish to contribute to the social and economic development of their home countries or regions. The courses are going to be offered in English or German or both.

Scholarships are for Masters' degree programs. Master's courses only selected in various institutions  by DAAD will be covered, the  following courses are included;
What The Scholarships Cover
  •  € 861 per month for Master' programs.
  • Health insurance cover in Germany 
  •  Appropriate travel allowances for travel between Germany and the developing countries in question and Germany 
  •  A study and research grant 
  • Rent subsidies and family supplements, as applicable

Requirements
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants  must have:
  • A Bachelor degree or its equivalent with above average results.
  •  Previous degree certificate must not be  older than 6 years.
  •  Applicants applying from Germany will  not be considered if you have stayed in the  country for more than 15 months.
  • Good knowledge of English Language
  • Strong Motivation toward political and  social engagement.
  •  Young graduates and professionals can  apply.

NOTE: Each Master course has its specific  requirements for admission and  candidates must indicate that they are applying for the DAAD Helmut Schmidt-Program (master’s scholarships in Public Policy and Good Governance)! candidate are allowed to apply for two courses.

How To Apply
● Applications are to be submitted for  selected courses and for the DAAD  scholarships to the respective universities  only and not to DAAD.
● Applicants' desired courses of study  according to preference should be  indicated  on the DAAD form.. 

The documents to be submitted include;
  • DAAD application form
  • GAB curriculum vitae {EU template are to be used]
  • letter of motivation for both higher education institutions
  • Copies of academic results
  • copies transcripts of records
  •  Signed working certificates for interships, work experience 0r volunteered jobs
  • Reference letter and English or German language certificate.
