Japanese 2016/2017 Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students: Offer of Admission in Japan

Application Deadline
There is a different application deadline for each country. Candidates have to contact the Japanese embassy in their home countries for the deadline applicable to their countries. You can apply if you will meet the requirements (below) by March 2017 or expected to graduate by August 2017.

Level 
MEXT scholarships are for the students going for undergraduate programmes.

Language of Instruction
English Language is the medium of teaching for many courses in Japan Universities. There are preparatory classes for foreign students before they start their programmes.

All fields available in the Japanese universities can be applied for, like;

Scholarship Objective
International students have been called on to apply for undergradute scholarships study Humanities Social Sciences and Natural Sciences subjects at the universities in the country. The Japanese Government in collaboration with the Ministries of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology 'MEXT' made available the scholarships.The objective is to promote the relationship between the Japanese Government and the international community in contributing to global development through investing in human resources from foreign nations.

Scholarship Value
 Scholarships for successful applicants will cover;
  • monthly allowance of 117,000 yen; there may be additional monthly payment between 2,000 or 3,000 on certain conditions.
  • cost of travelling to Japan.
  • tuition fees including the entrance examination, matriculation, and tuition at universities.
Note: The scholarship of the beneficiary may be cancelled on certain conditions like; if the student is absent from school for a long time, give false statement e.tc and the candidate may be required to refund the scholarships innitially collected.

Admission Requirements

  • No test is required before admission
  • To apply, applicants need to have attended school for atleast 12 years or have the upper secondary school certificate equivalent to that of the Japanese'. You can apply if you will meet the requirements by March 2017 or expected to graduate by August 2017.
  • Applicant must not have any mental issues.

How to Apply
 Candiadates need to submit the following;
  • Application Form
  • Placement Preference Form
  • Academic transcript for lasts 3 years
  • Graduation certificate from the last school attended
  • Letter of recommendation from the last school the candidate attended
  • Medical certificate
  • Admmission/enrollment cerficate if already in the university
  • University entrance examination certificate (if any)
